LONDON, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) — British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.97 percent, or 74.76 points, to close at 7,667.01 points.
Carnival PLC, a British-American cruise company and the world’s largest travel leisure company, soared 2.03 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. TUI AG and WPP PLC increased by 1.49 percent and 1.44 percent, respectively.
Evraz PLC, a multinational vertically integrated steel making and mining company headquartered in London, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 8.99 percent.
