Iran condemns attack in Turkey’s Batman targeting soldiers


TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned a recent Kurdish attack in Batman province, southeast of Turkey, which targeted Turkish military forces.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi offered sympathy to the Turkish nation and government, as well as the families of the victims.

Eight Turkish soldiers were killed and two others wounded in an attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Batman on Thursday.

The PKK detonated an improvised explosive as an armoured military vehicle passed by.
