Lebanon’s PM-designate vows to pass modern legislation to support business

BEIRUT, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) — Lebanese Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri said Friday that his priority is to accelerate the adoption of modern legislations to support the country’s business, local media reported.

“Our goal is to modernize the policies that have been adopted by the private sector to improve sustainable development and put Lebanon back on the map of worldwide successful companies,” Hariri said during his meeting with 12 executive directors of Lebanese companies.

Hariri emphasized the great importance of the role played by the private sectors in sustainability.

He noted that it is important to create partnership between the public and private sectors in Lebanon.

The Lebanese parliament ratified the Public Private Partnership law in August 2017.

The High Council for Privatization and Partnership will be authorized to approve, launch and manage projects, acting as the liaison between the private sector and government bodies.
