Red Sox-Orioles rained out, play DH on Wednesday

The Tuesday game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles was postponed because of sustained rain near Fenway Park in Boston.

The contest was called in the mid-afternoon with forecasts anticipating rain throughout the afternoon and evening, according to the Red Sox.

The game will be rescheduled for Wednesday as part of a day-night doubleheader. The opener will start at 1:05 p.m. ET, and the regularly scheduled contest is slated to begin at 7:10 p.m.

David Price is scheduled to start the opener; fellow left-hander Chris Sale will pitch the nightcap. Price was the scheduled starter on Tuesday.

Baltimore didn’t immediately announce its Wednesday pitching plans. Right-hander Jimmy Yacabonis was slated to start Tuesday.
