Romanian central bank (BNR) board members’ decision to keep the benchmark interest rate on hold at 2.50 percent on July 4 was unanimously endorsed by its board members, the meeting’s minutes showed on Wednesday.

Romanian consumer price inflation was unchanged at 5.4 percent on the year in June, data from the National Statistics Board (INSSE) showed on Wednesday.
The median forecast of a Reuters poll of analysts put inflation at 5.5 percent year-on-year at the end of June.
Global trade war fears caused the Czech crown to weaken on Wednesday, even though the country’s inflation rate rose more than expected in June, increasing the chances interest rates will go up.
