HOLLYOAKS actor David Easter was literally left red-faced after being punched during a charity dinner row.
The star was attending Friday night’s Balls To Cancer event in Wolverhampton alongside a host of famous faces including Big Brother stars Ryan Ruckledge, Hughie Maughan and Charlie Doherty and EastEnders actor John Partridge.
Despite arriving in high spirits, things quickly turned sour when David sat down next to This Is England actor Thomas Turgoose.
As a swanky three-course meal was served, Denise Welch’s ex started acting aggressively towards the 26-year-old.
After making digs at Thomas, David, who plays Mac Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap, then ‘looked like he was about to hit him’.
Acting in self-defence, Thomas lashed out and punched David squarely in the face, knocking him on the floor in the process.
A source who was at the bash told Daily Star Online: “It was a really fancy event.
“All the women were in ballgowns and the men were in tuxedos.
“Halfway through the meal David started having a go at Thomas and they got into an argument.
“Suddenly David looked like he was about to hit him so Thomas quickly knocked him square in the face and he fell back and straight off his chair.”
The gob-smacked onlooker added: “No-one could believe what was going on – everyone was watching shocked.
“In the end David was kicked out of the venue and the night carried on.
“It was such a shame that his actions put a downer on the night, especially as it was for charity.
“As soon as things were kicking off John Partridge called it quits and headed home – he didn’t even bother to stay for the rest of his meal.”
Trying to cover his tracks, David took to Twitter to thank the organisers of the event.
David tweeted: “Just want to say, thank you so much Balls To Cancer for the most awesome night at the Christmas Ball.
“I met lovely people and I seriously had a ball.
“Went to bed early, as I had to, and missed amazing performances! Forgive me!!! Big Love! D.”
However, one fan quickly replied: “Just for the record, I thought that your behaviour was disgusting.
“I think you lost sight of what last night was about. You ought to be ashamed of yourself.”
A rep for Hollyoaks declined to comment while Daily Star Online are yet to receive a response from reps for David Easter.
