RHIAN Sugden has revealed all about the torment she has received following being heavily criticised for posting a snap of herself outside a Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

The Page Three icon has shared her heartbreak, after receiving backlash on social media for posting a selfie outside a landmark in Berlin known as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

Posting to her 281k Instagram followers Rhian, 32, shared a snap of herself giving a sultry glance to the camera, as she posed in a grey hooded jumper.

She jokingly poked fun at her attire in the captioning writing “E.T phone home.

The pic prompted social networkers to accuse Rhian of having “a lack of empathy”.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star Online, Rhian reasoned: “I didn’t set out to offend anyone and I certainly wouldn’t class it as a ‘sexy selfie’ it’s just me with the Memorial in the background.“

She continued: “It’s a Memorial, a tourist attraction and there were hundreds of other people there taking pictures that day. My head is covered, I’m not smiling I was simply trying to get a pic of myself at the Memorial like every other tourist there.”

Following the backlash, Rhian has changed the caption of her picture to simply read “Sightseeing” – she also made her Instagram account private.

Rhian revealed she has been saddened by comments left under the picture by internet trolls.

“I’m actually gutted people are saying I am disrespectful – I’m really really not.”

“I’m hurt that people have gone out of their way to accuse me of something because they have taken my picture in a completely different context than it was intended.”

Rhian also took to Twitter to defend her actions to her 372k followers, she wrote:

“I posted a pic of me sightseeing in Berlin.

“I took a pic at a Memorial and made a comment that I look like E.T.

“The abuse I got is mental!”
