WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Riverdale season 3, episode 12, Bizzarodale.

After a few episodes of intense drama, this week showed a different side to the hit Netflix series.

There was a focus on the couples of Riverdale, including Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) and Moose Mason (Cody Kearsley), Tom Keller (Martin Cummins) and Sierra McCoy (Robin Givens) and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan).

Tom and Sierra got married in a quiet ceremony, much to the disappointment of Kevin and Josie (Ashleigh Murray).

Meanwhile, Cheryl hit a rough patch with Toni when she tried to publicly out Moose as gay, after Kevin grew tired of their secret romance.

Cheryl vowed to make things right for Toni, which included handing her a chance at an elite college and forming a new gang to replace the Southside Serpents.

Elsewhere, Josie was left disappointed when her on-off flame Sweet Pea (Jordan Connor) ended things for good.

Though she ended up kissing Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) after he helped with her Juliard application and they sang an impromptu duet.

Sadly, it wasn’t all sunshine for every Riverdale couple, with Kevin ending the episode heartbroken and in tears.

After Cheryl’s push, Moose did come out to his dad and he and Kevin planned their first night together.

They went down to the bunker to christen their new public relationship, but it all went downhill fast.

The boys were ambushed by a gang in Griffins & Gargoyles masks before being taken to the Gargoyle King.

Luckily, they were saved by Cheryl, the rest of the kids and all of their parents, who had figured out it was a trap.

And it ended up the Gargoyle King – at least this time – was Moose’s dad, who wasn’t happy with him being gay – despite being secretly gay himself.

In the end, Moose told Kevin: “I can’t stay, Kev. I came to tell you that I’m moving to Glendale to move in with my aunt.”

Crying, Kevin pleaded: “Your friends are here and I’m here. You can live with any of us.”

But Moose told him: “Kev, I can’t live here. At least not for a little while.”

So it does sound like Moose will be back – and until he is, at least Kevin has dating app Bumble to rely on, as Cheryl reminded him.

Riverdale streams on Netflix, with new episodes added weekly.
