This is the shocking moment a jewellery thief shoves an elderly woman to the ground during a brazen $100,000 heist.
During the attack, an 82-year-old woman was shoved to the ground at Salera’s Jewellmasters in Maribyrnong, in Melbourne’s west, last Wednesday at 2:30pm.
The thief launched himself over the counter, smashed a display cabinet and scooped $100,000 worth of diamond rings and bracelets into a bag.
The 89-year-old Italian company owner described the man as a wild bull rushing from his shop to a corridor before disappearing all in a matter of seconds.
Staff members and customers of the store were filmed chasing the man, who was dressed in a white jumpsuit, orange hi-vis vest, cap and sunglasses.
He fled in a white 1997 Honda Accord which has since been recovered by police.
Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the elderly woman for head injuries.
The woman was taken to the Epworth Hospital in Richmond for further observation and is recovering well but still has difficulty walking.
A spokesperson from Salera’s head office told Daily Mail Australia it is unlikely the goods will be recovered.
Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the matter further and urge anyone with information to come forward.
