There are three women still vying for Nick Cummins’ heart on The Bachelor.
And as the countdown to the finale begins, eagle-eyed fans have noticed possible clues in the ‘Top Three’ photo that could reveal the identity of the winner.
Network Ten released the first official image of the finalists – Sophie Tieman, Brittany Hockley and Brooke Blurton – on Wednesday morning.
It didn’t take long for Bachelor fans to come up with a convincing theory that the contestants’ outfits may offer clues as to who wins and who places runner up.
They observed that in three of the past five seasons, the winner has dressed in black for the official ‘Top Three’ photo shoot.
Anna Heinrich (2013), Sam Frost (2014) and Alex Nation (2016) all followed this trend.
In this year’s photo, rumoured winner Brittany Hockley posed front and centre in a plunging black dress flanked by Brooke on her left and Sophie on her right.
It has also been observed that the runner-up – who is believed to be Sophie this season – often wears a contrasting dress to the winner.
For example, Nikki Gogan wore a silver-hued frock in the 2016 season while Alex Nation – who was eventually picked by Richie Strahan – wore black.
In this year’s Top Three photo shoot, Sophie’s light pink, semi-sheer dress is markedly different to Brittany’s low-cut black number.
The position of the women in the photo is also considered significant by fans.
In the 2017, 2016 and 2013 seasons, third place contestants Tara Pavlovic, Olena Khamula and Ali Oetjen were all standing on the right in their photos.
Likewise in this year’s picture, confirmed third place contestant Brooke Blurton was positioned on the right.
Furthermore, the positioning of Brittany front and centre follows the trend set by the 2017, 2016 and 2013 seasons that the winner stands in the middle.
Laura Byrne, Alex Nation and Anna Heinrich each posed in the centre for their Top Three photo, before later going on to win the show.
