Zoe Marshall, 33, has previously revealed she struggled to adjust to motherhood after giving birth to her first child, Benjamin Fox.
Now, the WAG-turned-radio personality has spoken candidly about her heartbreaking struggle with postnatal depression in an effort to bring awareness to mental health on RU OK Day this Thursday.
Taking to Instagram, Zoe wrote: ‘Today is RUOK day. I have to be honest. Today I am…The two months prior were brutal. Suffering extreme postnatal depletion.’
She continued the caption, writing that postpartum ‘played out in low immunity, constant flu symptoms [and]exhaustion,’ adding that she did not take any days off from motherhood or working.
‘I tried to keep it together. I tried to smile through it all. I had only time for my baby and work. Everything else fell away. Not talking to anyone about it.
‘I can’t believe how happy I finally feel… Was it postnatal depression? I don’t know. I do know as a woman and mother I put way to much pressure on myself,’ she added.
And in July, Zoe took to her Instagram Story to share an honest post with fans, admitting she felt like she was ‘drowning’ while trying to juggle motherhood, her media career and life in general.
‘Some of you have reached out wondering why I’ve been so quiet,’ Zoe began, adding she was seeing a psychologist.
‘Things are really hard at the moment. So I’m spending some time trying to get my life balanced, get well and get my mind right.
‘Being sick (still) for so long is taking its toll on me mentally.’
In March, Zoe admitted she was struggling with the adjustment of becoming a new mother and shared a photo to Instagram of herself crying.
