BOGOTÁ, Colombia – Colombian police have arrested a suspected terrorist of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) known for her disguises, officials said on May 10. Mónica Echeverry, known as “Ledis,” and for her ability to dress as a nun, farmer and nurse, was taken into custody in Florencia, the capital of the southern department of Caquetá, police said. Echeverry, who was disguised as a nurse at the time of her capture, was sought in connection with her role during assaults on police stations and for guarding prisoners kidnapped by the terrorist group, police said. Echeverry, who is nicknamed the “woman of a thousand faces,” also was wanted on charges of aggravated homicide, terrorism, arms trafficking and rebellion, according to police.
