BOGOTÁ, Colombia – Colombian officials have requested Brazil extradite suspected drug trafficker and guerrilla José Samuel Sánchez, who was recently apprehended in Manaus, Brazil. Sánchez, who goes by the aliases “Martín Ávila” or “Tatareto,” is suspected of being a member of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), officials said. Sánchez could be extradited to Colombia after he faces charges in Brazil, said Sergio Fontes, the superintendent of the Federal Police in the state of Amazonas.
