ARSENAL news and gossip – Starsport brings you all the latest from the Emirates.

Chelsea may abandon plans to sign Aaron Ramsey due to the form of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley.

The Welshman is out of contract at the end of the season and will leave the Emirates after Gunners chiefs withdrew their initial offer.

Ramsey has been heavily linked with a number of Arsenal’s rivals, including Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

But Starsport understands the Blues are rethinking any approach.

“When Mesut is in this form, he is unstoppable.”

Both Loftus-Cheek and Barkley have been in stunning goalscoring form recently and have forced boss Maurizio Sarri to reconsider his best starting line-up.

Laurent Koscielny has warned Liverpool that Mesut Ozil is unstoppable ahead of their clash tomorrow evening.

“Mesut’s deserved all the plaudits he got after his performance against the Foxes,” he said.

“He was incredible. His goal bailed us out before the break and then his pass for Hector on our second goal is the best ball you will see all season.

“And he added an assist for Auba after a great dummy and understanding with Laca.

“When Mesut is in this form, he is unstoppable and makes us win. He has extraordinary qualities.

“There are not many players like him in the world right now capable of producing a pass the like for Hector, beating four opposition players with just one ball.”

Granit Xhaka is a vital cog in Unai Emery’s side, according to Arsenal team-mate Lucas Torreira.

“Granit is a player that I link up a lot with in the midfield and he covers lot of ground on the pitch,” he said.

“He occupies space really well and is important to the defensive balance of the team, which the manager knows.

“He’s an outlet for the first pass from defence and frustrates the opposition’s attackers.

“When he’s playing well, the team are going to win games.

“We’re gaining points and me and him are playing minutes together and gaining experience together, which is important.”
