Arsenal information: Star warns rivals – Liverpool recreation PROVES Gunners are top-four materials

GRANIT XHAKA insists Arsenal’s resilient attitude in their showdown with Liverpool proves they are true top-four contenders.

Under Unai Emery, the Gunners are showing a real grit not seen in recent times with Arsene Wenger in charge.

While their 11-game winning run in all competitions came to an end at Crystal Palace last week, Arsenal are still shining.

Yesterday’s 1-1 draw with title-chasing Liverpool at the Emirates was more than deserved.

James Milner put the visitors ahead after a poor piece of goalkeeping from Bernd Leno.

But in-form frontman Alexandre Lacazette found the net again late on to earn Arsenal a point and keep their unbeaten streak going.

Switzerland international Xhaka has been a much-improved figure in the middle of the park since Emery’s arrival.

And the midfielder has hailed his manager’s coaching for helping Arsenal reach their peak again.

“We knew we would not lose this game because we were so good and we showed character again,” Xhaka told the Mirror

“If you see this game, you can see we are ready for the top four”

“If you see this game, you can see we are ready for the top four.

“A lot of small things have changed in the last weeks and month. We have great character. If you are 1-0 down for example against Liverpool, we come back and it’s not the first time.

“The coach prepared us very well. Each game we know what we do. We know well the opposition, where they are good and where they are not. It’s not always easy to come back at 1-0 but as I said we showed great character.

“Last season we know it was not the best year of Arsenal, of the players.

“But I don’t want to speak about last year, I want to speak about now. We are now 14 games unbeaten and we must stay like that and improve small things.

“Of course, he (Emery) is important. He helps us – not only me but all the players with the small things. Tactical things. You can see that on the pitch.

“He is always on the pitch with us, moving us into the right position. I like that as well.”

Arsenal now sit fifth in the table but only six points off Manchester City in first and four points behind second-placed London rivals Chelsea.
