ARSENAL star Aaron Ramsey wants pay parity with Mesut Ozil amid his contract struggles, according to Martin Keown.
The Gunners were in excellent form against Fulham earlier today, beating the Premier League newcomers 5-1.
Strikers Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both grabbed braces while Ramsey came off the bench to score a wonderful team goal.
It is the ninth win in a row for Unai Emery, who has bounced back from early setbacks against Manchester City and Chelsea.
Arsenal have now leapfrogged local rivals Tottenham into fourth as they look to reassert themselves back into contention for a Champions League spot.
But off the pitch there have been problems with Ramsey over his contract.
The Welshman has entered the final year of his contract and would be free to leave at the end of the season.
Last month, it emerged that Arsenal had pulled out of talks with his representatives out of fear of a ballooning wage bill.
The likes of Chelsea and Liverpool have been linked with the ex-Cardiff midfielder, while both Milan clubs are also interested.
And Arsenal legend Keown has claimed that Ramsey is looking for the same wage as German playmaker Ozil.
He told BT Sport:“He might be looking at what other people are earning.
“Ozil is not even there today [against Fulham]and you couldn’t say he was missed, but he’s set the tone on what the salary is and maybe Ramsey is looking to get somewhere near his money.”
The former Real Madrid star signed a lucrative contract extension in January after a similar situation arose last season.
With his contract expiring, the club eventually gave in to his demands of £350,000-a-week out of fear of losing him for nothing in the summer.
Alexis Sanchez was another in the same circumstances, with the Chilean opting to leave.
Manchester United snapped up the forward, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan going the other way.
