A BRITISH man has been remanded in custody accused of tying up and raping a woman at her flat in Majorca.
Officers claim the 22-year-old victim was also beaten up during the alleged attack at an apartment in Playa de Palma.
She is said to have been taken to hospital afterwards with bruising to her arms, legs and face.
Police held the suspect – named as 26-year-old Dylan Rogers – at a neighbouring apartment after obtaining a warrant to enter.
The Brit, who is thought to live and work in the party resort of Magaluf, is understood to have denied any wrongdoing when he was questioned in court.
He was led into court in shorts and a T-shirt with his head bowed.
The judge is thought to have remanded him in custody.
Police have confirmed he has a British passport.
Police sources alleged the rape victim appeared to have been physically assaulted as well as sexually attacked and tied up.
They were called to the crime scene around 4.30pm on Wednesday and made the arrest in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The Brit has not been charged with any crime yet, as is normal in Spain where charges are only laid shortly before trial.
The alleged victim, a foreign non-British expat, is said to have alerted police after freeing herself.
The attack happened in a holiday resort in S’Arenal on the eastern end of Playa de Palma near Majorca’s airport.
