The Special One is facing his biggest crisis at Old Trafford yet.

Results are not going his way, players are growing tired of his methods and now the United board are reportedly losing patience.

According to the The Mirror, Mourinho will be given his marching orders regardless of how the Red Devils fare at home to Newcastle tonight.

So if he does leave the club, what could be next for Jose?

“Jose Mourinho’s old club Inter Milan are favourites with the bookies to reappoint the Portuguese”

Mourinho’s old club Inter are favourites with the bookies to reappoint the Portuguese should United hand him his P45.

With new ownership and, thus, plenty of money in the bank, he could be tempted to return to the San Siro and replicate the glory years of 2008-10 that saw him capture two Serie A titles and the Champions League.

Inter supporters also displayed a Mourinho banner behind the goal in their recent Champions League win over Tottenham.

Thomas Tuchel has only just taken over at the Ligue 1 champions and still has a 100% record in the league.

Yet, if the 45-year-old was to fail at the helm, it could be the perfect vacancy for Mourinho to fill.

With bundles of cash and a straightforward league to contest, he would simply need to give the club a greater push in the Champions League to make his name heard again.

Mourinho has often flirted with the idea of international football, turning down the chance to manage England in 2007.

He claimed his wife told him not to take that job due to its inactive nature, but what better way to wind down after the stress of failing at United than to take charge of his native Portugal?

Fernando Santos has most likely taken the team as far as he can by winning Euro 2016 and could make way for the 55-year-old.
