MAN UTD NEWS: Chris Smalling was pictured arriving with his dog at training this morning as Manchester United gear up for a trip to Bournemouth tomorrow.
“Manchester United have seemingly turned a corner of late”
United have seemingly turned a corner of late, following a dreadful start to the season that saw them beaten three times in their first seven games.
Since a 3-1 defeat away at West Ham on September 29 that plunged Jose Mourinho’s future into serious doubt, the Red Devils have picked up seven points out of nine.
And that return would have been impeccable had Ross Barkley not fired in a dramatic 96th-minute equaliser for Chelsea in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge on October 20.
Mourinho and co will hope to build on their 2-1 victory against Everton last Sunday when they go away to Bournemouth in tomorrow’s early kickoff.
Ahead of the trip, the likes of Luke Shaw, Romelu Lukaku and Chris Smalling were pictured arriving at training to put in their final preparations this morning.
Smalling, however, had an unexpected visitor in his passenger seat.
Along with wife Sam, the United defender’s pet dog was also spotted pulling into Carrington.
Another man pictured driving into training was Antonio Valencia.
The United right-back has not featured for the club since liking an Instagram post calling for Mourinho to leave following their 0-0 Champions League draw at home to Valencia.
Yet Mourinho insists Valencia is still carrying a knock and has ruled him out of contention for tomorrow’s match.
“I watched something funny in Antonio’s Instagram where he says “work, work, work” in the gym,” he said.
“He should say alone because he is injured and can’t train with the team. It looked like he was working really hard – but without the ball and without the team. He’s not ready.”
