“The Premier League have today revealed their six nominees for October’s EA Sports Player of the Month award”
The Premier League have today revealed their six nominees for October’s EA Sports Player of the Month award.
To vote, fans must go to the EA Sports website and choose a player from the shortlist before 11:59pm on Monday 5 November.
Votes will be combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts to decide the winner – set to be announced on Friday 9 November.
So which players have been nominated for October?
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Arsenal)
The Gunners forward was last month’s leading Premier League scorer, netting five goals in three appearances for Unai Emery’s side.
Ross Barkley (Chelsea)
October proved a superb month for the England midfielder, who was involved in six goals for the Blues – more than any other player in the league – scoring three of his own.
Fernandinho (Manchester City)
There is always plenty of adulation for the Premier League champion’s menacing attack but Fernandinho is an unsung hero for them in the middle of the park. No midfielder made more combined interceptions and tackles in October than the Brazilian.
Anthony Martial (Manchester United)
The Frenchman scored twice in United’s dramatic 2-2 draw away at Chelsea, before curling home the winner in a 2-1 victory against Everton last Sunday. He also found the back of the net in a two-goal comeback win over Newcastle at the start of the month.
Mat Ryan (Brighton)
Chris Hughton’s side managed to go through October without conceding a single goal in three consecutive 1-0 wins over West Ham, Newcastle and Wolves. The Australian shot-stopper was largely to thank for that, making a total of 17 saves.
Callum Wilson (Bournemouth)
The Cherries striker enjoyed a terrific October. He first scored and set up two in a resounding 4-0 triumph away at Watford, before netting a brace in a comprehensive 3-0 victory away at Fulham.
