RANGERS host Dundee in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow – but who will Steven Gerrard select to start?
“Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has enjoyed a mixed start at Rangers since taking the reins in the summer”
The former Liverpool captain has enjoyed a mixed start at Ibrox since taking the reins in the summer.
He has picked up five points in the Gers’ first four league games, as well as guiding them to the Europa League knockout stage.
Yet, a gut-wrenching 1-0 defeat away at bitter rivals Celtic came prior to the international break – with Gerrard losing his battle against ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
They will hope to bounce back tomorrow when Dundee visit Ibrox, nevertheless.
The visitors are rock bottom of the table after losing every one of their four Scottish Premiership outings so far.
And the latter could be without defender Josh Meetings, who is an injury doubt.
As for Rangers, their sole injured star is Jamie Murphy – the winger ruled out for the rest of the season after damaging knee ligaments in their 3-1 League Cup win at Kilmarnock last month.
Graham Dorrans, Jordan Rossiter and Eros Grezda are doubts, however.
Allan McGregor is bound to start in between the sticks; with a back four of James Tavernier, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic sitting in front.
Gerrard is expected to switch to 4-3-3 after fielding a 4-3-1-2 away at Celtic last time out.
That should see Lassana Coulibaly, Ryan Jack and Scott Arfield start in midfield.
Alfredo Morelos is likely to start upfront, with Ryan Kent and Kyle Lafferty flanking the striker.
