Woods treats golf fans to a sensational 64 – but it’s not enough to deny Brooks Koepka his third Major.
LET THERE BE no doubt about it: Tiger Woods is back — if not to the stunning heights of his absolute best, then at least to a place where he is a live and genuine contender to add to his haul of 14 Major championships.
Woods stole the show at Bellerive Country Club on Sunday, rolling in eight birdies in a brilliant 64 that saw him finish in second place at the PGA Championship.
For a large part of the evening, it looked very likely that he could go one better.
If nothing else, he would have been a shot closer had this 30-foot birdie putt at the 11th not stayed agonisingly perched on the lip of the cup:
This approach shot from 164 yards on the 15th hole was every bit as good as anything he produced when at his best, rolling to within 18 inches for a gimme birdie:

And after a wayward tee shot on the par-five 17th ended any realistic chance of catching the red-hot Brooks Koepka, Woods finished on a high with this brilliant birdie at the last:
Might as well end it on a birdie. Tiger finishes -14 with a final-round 64 pic.twitter.com/vWDzMcD39y
