Tottenham vs Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp explains Naby Keita and Jordon Henderson decision

JURGEN KLOPP says Jordon Henderson is still building his way up to full strength so has brought Naby Keita back in for Liverpool.

The Reds are at Tottenham today, and summer signing Keita returns to the starting XI at Wembley.

Henderson made the first XI for the first time this season at Leicester before the international break.

Keita was in the middle the previous three games, though, and has impressed already.

Klopp is confident the Guinea international can deliver today against Spurs.

“Hendo needs his full physical strength”

“We need Hendo so much and I don’t think it makes sense in the moment to play him day in, day out, that’s the thing,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

“It is still a bit adapting to the intensity.

“Hendo needs his full physical strength.

“I’m sure he’ll have that today when he comes on and on Tuesday as well.”

Klopp has got one eye on Liverpool’s crunch Champions League clash with PSG at Anfield on Tuesday.

The manager has hinted Henderson could be in line to start in midweek instead.

Henderson did get game time during the international break too, starting the defeat against Spain before coming on as a substitute on Tuesday in the 1-0 win over Switzerland.
