BRASÍLIA, Brazil – U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to visit the Brazilian capital on March 19 to meet President Dilma Rousseff, according to the Brazilian government.
Obama is expected to stop in Rio de Janeiro the next day, according to the government news agency Agência Brasil.
It is unclear whether Obama will be accompanied by his wife Michelle and their daughters Malia and Sasha.
Obama’s visit to Brazil is part of a Latin American tour in which the U.S. leader also will stop in El Salvador and Chile in an attempt to “forge new alliances” throughout the Americas.
