Scholar dies after being shot at highschool in U.S. North Carolina


WASHINGTON, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) — A student died after being shot at a high school in U.S. state of North Carolina Monday morning, police said.

Another student was taken into custody after the shooting at Butler High School in Matthews, according to local police.

Police said the shooting was believed to be an isolated incident.

The Charlotte-Mecklenberg School District said law enforcement officials have lifted the lockdown at the high school.

Classes would be held for students remaining on campus, the district added.
