ARSENAL star Alexandre Lacazette was left baffled as his ‘goal’ against Man Utd was ruled an own goal.
With the score at 1-1 midway through the second half, Marcos Rojo’s slack pass gave the ball away in a dangerous area.
The striker played a nifty one-two with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and found himself bearing down on the advancing on David De Gea.
Just as Lacazette was about to pull the trigger and give Arsenal the lead, Rojo slid in trying to atone for his error.
But the Argentine international only succeeded in blundering the ball into his own net.
Eric Bailly also launched himself at the ball and managed to land directly on Lacazette’s head.
The Arsenal man was left in a crumpled heap as his team-mates celebrated around him with his side 2-1 ahead.
Replays proved somewhat inconclusive as to whether it was Lacazette or Rojo who got the final touch.
Lacazette was adamant he had added to his six Premier League goals of the season.
But the Premier League’s dubious goal committee ruled that the Rojo would be credited with the own goal.
In response to the disappointing news, Lacazette simply tweeted: “Really bro?” with the pondering emoji.
Arsenal shot themselves in the foot a mere 13 seconds later by conceding to Jesse Lingard’s close-range strike.
The 2-2 draw means the north Londoners have now gone 20 games without tasting defeat.
He said: “I am very proud for our work and how we responded in the 90 minutes.
“When we are winning it was a good moment but they equalised very quickly then we got up after their two goals.
“In the second half, our players worked to find a way to win.
“I think we were close, more than them, to do the third goal but De Gea saved two or three times with good action.”
