Meghan Markle will reportedly seek Queen Elizabeth II’s help amid her alleged rift with Kate Middleton.
Alahna Kindred, a journalist for Express, claimed that a palace insider said that since Her Majesty has seen it all throughout her years of leading the royal family, she will most likely be of great help to Markle and Middleton.
“Her Majesty has seen it all and could offer the Duchess some helpful advice at the moment. Meghan would do well to nurture that relationship and pop over for the occasional cup of tea with the Queen. This is what Sophie Wessex has quietly done so well,” the source told The Sunday Times.
Sophie, Countess of Wessex, was also plagued by reports of tensions behind the scenes after she wed Prince Edward in 1999. But back then, she managed to forge a close relationship with the Queen.
“She will go over for a chat, or take the children to watch some TV with her. She has built up that relationship, now they are incredibly close and discuss everything. Meghan doesn’t need an invitation – this is family after all,” the source said.
In related news, the Queen isn’t the only person that could show the Duchess of Sussex support while she’s feuding with Middleton. Michelle Obama also talked about Markle during a recent interview.
“Like me, Meghan probably never dreamt that she’d have a life like this, and the pressure you feel – from yourself and from others – can sometimes feel like a lot. So my biggest piece of advice would be to take some time and don’t be in a hurry to do anything,” the former U.S. first lady said.
“I spent the first few months in the White House mainly worrying about my daughters, making sure they were off to a good start at school and making new friends before I launched into any ambitious work. I think it’s okay – it’s good, even – to do that,” she added, as per Express.
