The festive season is upon us and with that comes Secret Santa and work Christmas parties.

However, a new study has shown the festivities are also bringing out a different side to our work colleagues, with 38% of people blaming the Christmas party for having a cheeky kiss behind their partner’s back.

A new study conducted by Insurance2go revealed that one in 10 Brits have cheated on a partner at Christmas, with 21% of those in a relationship admitting they are typically more flirtatious during the festive period.

What’s even more surprising, is 71% of those polled did not tell their partner afterwards.

The stats also found that 14% of men have cheated on a partner compared to 8% of women.

For 38% of people, the frowned-upon acts were carried out at the work Christmas party.

The top five flirtatious acts carried out by Brits at Christmas are:

1. Kissed someone at a Christmas party (38%)

2. Danced flirtatiously with someone at a Christmas party (26%)

3. Swapped numbers at a Christmas party (19%)

4. Bought a stranger a drink (18%)

5. Went home with someone after a Christmas party (13%)

The survey by Insurance2go polled 1,000 people and was calculated on how many adults are in the UK and how many UK adults confessed to cheating on a partner during the Christmas period.
