Pogba is not in the starting XI tonight – just days after a dressing room row with manager Jose Mourinho.

The Frenchman reportedly accused Mourinho’s tactics of being the reason behind his poor display on the South Coast in Saturday’s 2-2 draw.

He’s not in the team tonight, but has been named among the substitutes.

It’s been claimed the player is struggling with a virus, which could be behind the reason not to start him against the Gunners.

However Mourinho didn’t alude to that in his pre-match chat with BT Sport.

“Technical and tactical decisions,” he said. “We are going to play with wingers Rashford and Martial, we did that before recently against Young Boys.

“We were not successful in the goals we wanted to score but we were happy with the situations we create. We believe that in their dynamic and appetite.”

He has also dropped Romelu Lukaku, opting instead for an attacking trio of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.

For Arsenal, Alexandre Lacazette starts on the bench with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leading the line.

Aaron Ramsey starts in midfield. Mesut Ozil is not included after struggling with a back injury.

United legend Rio Ferdinand said of the team: “It is some bench. Lukaku, Mata, Pogba, Fellaini. It is phenomenal.

“He has made changes and after seeing the performance at Southampton, there needed to be.

“Something needed to be done and there is a common theme under Mourinho, changes every week.

“That doesn’t bode well for me long-term and you can’t do that week in, week out.”
