STOKE City star Peter Crouch has revealed in a podcast how he was booted off a theme park ride for being too tall.
The 6ft 7ins-tall Stoke City striker, 37, admitted that he was at the funfair with wife Abbey Clancy when he got on a ride with one of his daughters.
The former England international, who has three kids – Sophia Ruby, seven, Liberty Rose, three, and Johnny, 11 months – said, however, he was told to get off the ride because of his lengthy frame.
Instead, 32-year-old wife Abbey had to get on the ride instead – and it ended up getting stuck in mid-air.
A smug Crouchy was forced to watch from below as he scoffed a doughnut and had a cuppa.
Speaking on his Radio 5 Live podcast, called That Peter Crouch Podcast, yesterday, the footballer said: “Once we were at Thorpe Park and I got on the ride with my little girl and I was in the seat and they said ‘sorry sir, you’ll have to get out’.
“Everyone was watching me and I had to get out of the seat and walk out and Abbey came on and took my place.
“He (the theme park worker) said ‘Sorry, you’re just too tall for the ride’.
“It was a low point for me, it was quite embarrassing, but then the ride got stuck!!!
“It was quite embarrassing”
“I was in tears laughing – Abbey was just sitting on the ride for half an hour.
“I had a doughnut and a cup of tea and was just mooching around.”
This comes as Crouch made a hilarious joke about his wife last month.
Crouch was capped 42 times by England between 2005 and 2010.
He scored 22 goals for his country and appeared at two World Cups.
Crouch is one of 28 players to have scored 100 or more Premier League goals.
The star also holds the record for the most headed goals in the league’s history.
His wife Clancy is a lingerie and catwalk model.
She was the runner-up of Britain’s Next Top Model in 2006 and won series 11 of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013.
Since 2015 she has been presenting Britain’s Next Top Model.
