Game of Thrones fans are so unhappy with the final season of the show that they want the entire thing remade.
The final season of the HBO series has been its most divisive yet, with the expectations of many fans and critics alike not being met.
The penultimate episode, The Bells, has become the worst reviewed in the show’s decade-long history, scoring a measly 48% on Rotten Tomatoes.
As a result, some angry fans are determined to get the season they had hoped for.
A petition urging HBO to remake the entire final season has been made, and currently more than 16,000 desperate fans have signed it.
“This series deserves a final season that makes sense,” reads the petition’s mission statement.
“David Benioff and DB Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e the books) to fall back on.
“Subvert our expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
It comes after the writers of season eight have now spoken out about the decision to make Daenerys Targaryen turn to the dark side.
David Benioff has insisted that it shouldn’t have come as a surprise as the signs have been there since all the way back in season one.
“She sees the Red Keep, which is, to her, the home that her family built when they first came over to this country 300 years ago.
“It’s in that moment, on the walls of King’s Landing where she’s looking at that symbol of everything that was taken from her, when she makes the decision to make this personal.”
Game of Thrones’ finale will air Sunday night on Sky Atlantic.
GAME of Thrones viewers have had enough of the critically panned season.
