BUCHAREST, May 17 – Here are news stories, press reports and events to watch which may affect Romanian financial markets on Friday.


Romanian central bank Governor Mugur Isarescu holds a news conference from 0800 GMT to present the bank’s latest inflation forecasts for this year and next. The bank currently expects inflation at 3.0 and 3.1 percent, respectively.


Romania’s finance ministry sold a more than planned 750 million lei($176.52 million) of October 2021 treasury bonds on Thursday, with the average accepted yield at 3.83 percent, central bank data showed.


Central European currencies firmed up on Thursday on a report that U.S. President Donald Trump planned to delay a decision that would have imposed tariffs on auto imports from Europe.
