Last week, Microsoft released a round of cumulative updates for most supported versions of Windows 10, and it wasn’t long before those with Surface Book 2 PCs were reporting blue screens of death (BSODs). After over a week, Microsoft has now acknowledged the issue, updating its changelog for the cumulative update.

The page now says the following:

For customers who are currently experiencing this issue, please follow these instructions Troubleshoot blue screen errors and uninstall KB4467682.

Note For Surface Book 2 customers, we are only blocking this optional update. You will receive the required December 2018 security update release.

A resolution for this issue will be available in the December 2018 security update release.

This is, of course, on top of the Windows Media Player bug, which affects all supported versions of Windows.

Interestingly, while this update has been blocked from being installed on the Surface Book 2, Microsoft is promising to fix it with the next update for this month, which is due out on December 11. The firm said something similar for the Windows Media Player issue, so maybe this is the start of Microsoft actually telling people when things are going to be fixed, rather than not providing a timeline at all.
