CORONATION Street’s Jennie McAlpine has revealed she has given birth to her second child.
Jennie McAlpine announced she was pregnant earlier this year and her exit from Coronation Street for maternity leave was revealed.
Jennie and her husband Chris Farr have announced that she gave birth on Monday and the little girl’s name.
Taking to Twitter, the 34-year-old wrote on Tuesday: “Our newest addition arrived yesterday.
“Mummy and Daddy very happy. Big brother very proud of his little sister Hilda. We’re all in love.”
“We’re all in love”
Jennie and Chris already have a son together, three-year-old Albert.
It seems Albert has already taken to life as a big brother, as Jennie shared a card he made for “mummy, daddy and Hilda”.
Jennie has played Fiz Brown on Coronation Street since 2001, though her upcoming exit was recently revealed.
Fiz will leave the Cobbles as her feud with Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) continues to heat up.
Currently, Fiz is finding it difficult living with Evelyn as she’s putting a lot of pressure on Fiz and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).
Fiz is struggling with Evelyn’s behaviour and wants Tyrone to encourage his nan to find a new place to live.
In the coming weeks, Evelyn is set to divide the couple, pushing Fiz to pack her bags and move away.
When Evelyn’s casting was announced in September, Maureen said: “Fiz doesn’t stand a chance!
“No one was ever going to be good enough for her grandson, not that she thinks he is good enough either, but she has a grudging liking for this boy and thinks the woman he is with is boring.
“She sets out to push her away by being ungracious and critical and generally driving a wedge between them.
“It’s a horrible thing to do but there are people like that.”
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
