AUSSIE revellers have been causing carnage at the Melbourne Cup Carnival as naughty horse racing fans strip off, snog and get boozy at the notorious Derby Day.
Attendees at what is regarded as one of the most prestigious days of racing have been behaving badly down under.
The AAMI Victoria Derby Day tries to create an environment of “classic racing elegance in a larger than life world of glamour and sophistication”.
But boozy Aussies were having none of it.
Sticking to the strict monochrome dress code, revellers descended on the glamorous occasion with a little more than horse racing in mind.
Booze-fuelled party-goers were snapped rolling around on the ground in revealing black and white outfits.
While some were pictured a little worse for wear as they chugged their drinks.
Another woman was snapped on the floor receiving medical attention as police patrolling the event looked to assist.
The Cup Week kicked off today with the AAMI Victoria Derby Day, as a whole week of carnage is yet to be unleashed on the city.
Tuesday will see Australia’s greatest sporting and cultural icon, the $7.3 million Lexus Melbourne Cup attract thousands.
Revellers are encouraged to make an outrageous fashion statement with the most exotic outfit they can find.
Organisers hope sophistication will return for Thursday’s Kennedy Oaks Day, where the theme is beauty, femininity, style and grace.
While Saturday will host a fun and family-friendly atmosphere for the Seppelt Wines Stakes Day.
