EDEN HAZARD has been warned about a potential move to Real Madrid as he risks losing his “happiness”.
That is the opinion of Danny Murphy, who reckons he could be Chelsea’s best ever player if he stays.
The Blues star has been in sensational form for Chelsea this season, scoring eight goals and helping his side to three assists too.
There has been strong interest from Real Madrid and in the summer, Hazard admitted the Spanish giants were his “dream club”.
With his contract expiring in 2020, the west London outfit could be forced into letting him go this summer or risk losing him for nothing the following year.
Maurizio Sarri has been doing all he can to keep Hazard happy after letting him off the leash compared to predecessors Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.
But it would be difficult to see how Hazard stays if he pushes for the move in the summer.
However, former Liverpool star Murphy has warned the 27-year-old that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
“Eden Hazard is the best player in the Premier League and I can see him staying at Chelsea for the long term, if he is offered the right contract,” he told bwin.
“I think his family are happy in London and there’s no guarantee he would get that freedom and happiness at Real Madrid.
“I think Hazard could become Chelsea’s best player in history if he chooses to stay at the club.
“He has conducted himself so well throughout the speculation and the fans love him even more for it.”
Last month, Sarri told the forward he does not need to leave to win the Ballon d’Or.
“Of course Eden for us he is a fantastic player,” Sarri said.
“It will be very important for us if he will remain with us, it will be very important.
“I think also he can win everything, also the Ballon D’Or, here without playing in Spain.
“Chelsea will be able to win the Champions League, Belgium will be able to win the European Cup.”
