LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp has been told that Watford star Abdoulaye Doucoure would be a top addition to his squad.
Reds hero Jan Molby has been watching the midfielder closely since he arrived in 2016 and he is a big fan.
Doucoure has been an ever-present for the Hornets amid their bright start to the Premier League season.
While he is yet to get on the scoresheet this term, but has set up four already for his in-form team-mates.
The France U21 international picked up the Hornets’ Player of the Season and top goalscorer award last term.
And despite Liverpool’s wealth of talent, Molby would be in favour of Klopp bringing Doucoure to Anfield.
“I can absolutely see why Liverpool are being linked with Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure,” he wrote in the Liverpool Echo.
“I’m a big fan of his and have been for a few years now.
“Doucoure is a modern-day midfielder. He covers the ground very, very quickly but there’s a lot more to his game than that.
“Every time I have seen him, he has admittedly looked a bit sloppy.
“But the way to sharpen him up is to train and play with better players. He’d have that at Liverpool.
“Sometimes when you look at players, you are looking at potential, and I think there is untapped potential in Doucoure’s game.
“He has played some passes this season that obviously don’t get highlighted the way they deserve, but he looks a really, really good player.
“He is a good footballer and he sees things very well. I think he would be an absolutely sensational signing.”
Liverpool have made their best start to a top-flight campaign since the Premier League began in 1992-93.
Eight wins and two draws matched Manchester City’s record but the Reds trail their rivals on goal difference.
Klopp takes his side to the Emirates tomorrow to face in-form Arsenal side (5.30pm).
