MANCHESTER UNITED star Romelu Lukaku reportedly feels let down by Jose Mourinho after news emerged that he had been dropped for today’s clash.
The Red Devils are facing Bournemouth today at the Vitality Stadium in the early kick-off in the Premier League today.
United go into the match with just two wins in seven while the Cherries sit three points ahead of them in the league.
Mourinho has come under immense pressure in recent months but found joy with a new attacking system against Everton last week.
Lukaku was dropped for Marcus Rashford, whose wilful running in behind allowed the likes of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba to flourish.
It has been an abysmal couple of months for Lukaku, though, who has now gone nine games without a goal for his club.
The Belgian has always been a favourite of The Special One, who stuck by the former Everton striker during a similar barren run last year.
However, much has changed now with the fans starting to get on Lukaku’s back and for a second match running it appears that the forward has been dropped again.
The 25-year-old was not seen boarding the plane to the south coast yesterday afternoon, with Rashford poised to start up front again.
And it has left Lukaku feeling let down, according to the Metro, as Mourinho looks to have upset another player.
Pogba, Martial and Alexis Sanchez have all felt the wrath of the Portuguese coach at different times of the season and it now appears Lukaku is ready to join that list.
The ex-Chelsea striker reportedly feels like he is being made the scapegoat for United’s problems this year and instead of protecting him, his boss has thrown him to the wolves.
A naturally reserved character, the hotshot has been walking around Carrington training base miserably all week.
And the Metro go on to report that the Belgium international is unhappy with his team-mates too, who he feels have not provided him with good enough service.
He believes the squad are not playing to his strengths but this latest report will not go down well in the dressing-room.
