WWE’S Crown Jewel has kicked off with a massive shock as Hulk Hogan returned for the first time since his infamous racism row.
WWE has ignored protests about the killing of Jamal Khashoggi and pressed on with their show in Saudi Arabia.
WWE Crown Jewel will see a new WWE champion after Roman Reigns was forced to give up the belt due to his ongoing battle with leukaemia.
And the first ever WWE World Cup will take place.
To add further controversy to the event, arguably the most famous wrestler of all time, Hulk Hogan, has made his first return to the company since becoming embroiled in a racism row.
“Let me tell you something brother”
In a leaked video, Hulk, real name Terry Bollea, was caught using the term n******.
He was shortly fired by WWE and all references to him were removed.
But fans had clearly forgiven the Hulkster over the incident.
After his entrance with classic theme “Real American” ringing out through the arena”, he was greeted to a huge ovation.
As the crowd cheered, Hulk led with his catchprase: “Well let me tell you something brother.”
He then continued with, “right here at the Crown Jewel Jack.”
Despite the thundering ovation, other WWE fans on Twitter weren’t so happy to see him.
“So the WWE is bringing out blatant white supremacist Hulk Hogan. I guess they want to make money from all the anti-Black WWE fans.”
In preparation for his appearance in Saudi Arabia, Hogan, 65, was reinstated into the Hall of Fame this year.
At the time. the company said he had made “numerous apologies and working with young people, where he is helping them learn from his mistake”.
After making his Hall of Fame return, Hogan wrote on Instagram: “Just met with WWE superstars on all levels, the volume of support was overwhelming.
“I’ve been praying for this day and I finally feel like I made it back home.”
