Lidl and Morrisons are selling wine with gin in it – and it costs £7

WINE fans should keep their eyes peeled for bottles of plonk infused with GIN on sale at Lidl and Morrisons – and they cost £7 each.

The boozy combination comes with sparkling white wine, London dry gin and flavours of clove, bitter orange, angostura bark and gentian root.

The tipple has a lower alcohol by volume (ABV) of 8.5%, in comparison to sparkling wines which are typically around 11%.

The 75cl bottles rolled out in Lidl stores nationwide last week for £6.99, but the supermarket told The Sun it’s “unlikely” they’re still available.

Yet it could be worth giving your local store a ring as a user in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook spotted the bottles in a Lidl shop earlier today.

Shoppers can currently also nab them for £7 in Morrisons stores and on its website too.

The Botanica Italia bottles are best enjoyed in a wine or gin glass, with or without ice, finished with citrus peel or elderflowers, according to its owner Ginking.

The tipple was shared by a Facebook users in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, who wrote: “White Wine + Gin – not sure how I feel about that but it’s only £6.99 for a 75cl bottle in Lidl.”

The post has so far racked mixed reactions with one user simply saying: “Game changer.”

While another added: “That sounds like the hangover from hell in a bottle!! Not that it would stop me!!”

And a third wrote: “Not sure if I like the idea of wine and gin mixed.”

Plus, a fourth who’s actually tried it, said: “Not very strong both percentage and flavour for gin however topped up with a touch of flavoured gin or gin liqueur this is very nice indeed.”

If you’re keen to try it, you’ll have to shop at Lidl or Morrisons as they’re the only supermarkets where it’s currently on sale.

Lidl has more than 800 stores across the UK. You can find your nearest one by using its store locator tool.

Alternatively, Tesco is selling another Ginking drink with wine and gin infused with Mediterranean botanicals for a pricier £10.

You can now buy red wine-flavoured gin – and it’s perfect for those who struggle to decide what to drink.

In May last year, wine giant Blossom Hill launched two sparkling gins, and they’re perfect for summer nights.

Meanwhile, a few years ago, Aldi rolled out 2-in-1 gin and wine – and it’s MORE boozy than normal bottles of the spirit.
