Adele Reveals Special Guest at Her Nervous One-Night-Only Concert

Adele’s concert in front of Griffith Observatory drew an A-list crowd, but only one person made her nervous.

It was her first performance in front of Angelo, her 9-year-old son.

The concert, along with an interview with Oprah Winfrey, was the centerpiece of Adele’s One Night Only special, which aired on CBS Sunday night.

Adele took to Twitter shortly before the special began, confessing that she had “never been so nervous in my life” performing in front of Angelo.

She also expressed gratitude to Winfrey for “allowing me to tell my truth lovingly in a safe space” and for the opportunity to perform new songs in front of an audience during the coronavirus outbreak.

Adele wrote, “It was hard to imagine being on stage singing again ever after being on such a rollercoaster the last few years and then the pandemic.”

“So the fact that I got to hear and sing my new songs has made me feel a million different emotions at the same time!”

It was also the first time my son had seen me perform, and I’ve never been more nervous in my life!! I hope you enjoy it, and tune in tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT on CBS x!

Last month, a group of celebrities in the audience filmed Adele’s performance at the Los Angeles landmark.

Seth Rogen, Gayle King, Ellen DeGeneres, Lizzo, Dwayne Wade, Gabrielle Union, Melissa McCarthy, Sarah Paulson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gordon Ramsay, James Corden, Donald Glover, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Ava DuVernay all appeared in the CBS special.

Adele performed a mix of new songs as well as old favorites like “Hello” and “Someone Like You” during her set.

Adele told Rolling Stone that she does not plan to tour in support of 30, so her show at the Griffith Observatory could be the last time she performs “Easy on Me” and other songs from the album for a long time.

“With all the rules and stuff,” Adele explained, “it’s too unpredictable.”

“I don’t want anyone to be scared at my show.”

I also don’t want to catch COVID.”

Adele, now 33, began writing the album when she was 30 years old, and it will be released six years after her previous album, 25, was released.

Despite the fact that she could have pushed it back, she decided now was the time…
