After closing Jennifer Lopez’s Pasadena restaurant, her father started his own company in Silicon Valley.

Jennifer Lopez is without a doubt one of the most talented individuals in the entertainment industry.

She has clearly earned her place in history as an award-winning actress, musician, and fashion icon.

However, far fewer fans are aware of the star’s wealthy family.

JLo’s father, in particular, has had an interesting career path over the last few decades.

Lopez, on the other hand, requires little introduction.

He even planned to retire after the 1990s.

However, when Jennifer’s restaurant, Madre’s, opened in Pasadena, California in 2002, he put those plans on hold and joined Jennifer in running it.

For the two of them, everything went swimmingly.

After the restaurant opened, a number of well-known figures praised it.

Unfortunately, when Jennifer decided to take a break from her career in 2008, David and Jennifer had to shut down the company.

The elder Lopez appeared unfazed by the setback.

David used his failure as motivation for his next venture, keeping his cool (a trait he reportedly passed down to his daughter).

He met Edward Avila and Silvia Flores of Silicon Valley in 2013 and backed their new startup, Manos Accelerator.

Manos Accelerator is a program that assists the best and brightest Latinos in becoming entrepreneurs.

The company’s 12-week mentorship programs teach participants the fundamentals of defining their goals, starting a business, and introducing…
