ALTON Towers is giving away 30,000 free park tickets to a number of job-holders.
The free tickets are part of the “Big Merlin Thank You” initiative which hopes to give back to some of the key workers during the pandemic.
Of the 30,000 tickets, 10,000 will be donated here in the UK, while the remaining will be across Asia, North America and Australia and New Zealand.
Key workers including NHS staff will be able to access them via the free platform ‘Blue Light Tickets’ for frontline workers to get free tickets to attractions and events.
NHS, social care and emergency services workers are urged to sign up now to get early bird access to the free tickets.
Other tickets included in the deal are other Merlin attractions such as Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park.
The Bear Grylls Adventure and some Madame Tussauds and SEA LIFE Centres are also included in this.
Of the 10,000 tickets, 3,000 will go to the following jobs:
Will Campbell-Lamerton, Partnerships and Operations Manager at Blue Light Tickets, said: “In these difficult times, we have been blown away by Merlin’s generosity.
“We know that free tickets to leisure days out will spread the message of ‘thank you’ to NHS, healthcare and emergency service workers, who’ve shown superhero strength and dedication in recent months.
“For those who haven’t been able to spend much time with their families during the COVID-19 lockdown, either as a result of long working hours or social distancing, we hope that a free day out at a Merlin resort/attraction will give some respite to those who need it most.”
Alton Towers is just one of the theme parks introducing new rules and safety measures having reopened last week.
We went back to the park to see what a socially distanced visit is like, with face masks and limited guests on rides.
SUN Superdays is also back . . . and you can get two FREE tickets to the awesome Alton Towers Resort worth more than £110.
