Are You Ready for Season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’? Everything We Know About Season 2 of ‘Bridgerton’
Prepare yourself for another promenade.
After premiering on Netflix on Christmas Day, Bridgerton became an instant hit, and fans aren’t the only ones who want more.
Jonathan Bailey, Phoebe Dynevor, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Luke Thompson, Florence Hunt, Will Tilston, and Ruth Gemmell star as the Bridgerton family as they try to find love in Regency-era high society.
Daphne (Dynevor), the eldest sister, and her relationship with London’s most eligible bachelor Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), drew a lot of attention in season one.
Before the period drama was officially renewed, there were rumors of a second season when it was revealed that filming would resume in England in March.
Bridgerton is almost certain to return after reaching over 63 million households.
Even the cast, however, is unaware of what will occur next.
“We’re all hoping for a renewal,” says breakout star Nicola Coughlan (a.k.a.
In December 2020, Variety quoted Penelope Featherington.
“It’s a lot of fun to make, and the response has surpassed our wildest expectations.”
But we won’t know until the Netflix gods come down and bless us.”
Despite keeping the details under wraps, showrunner Chris Van Dusen has big plans for the show, which is based on Julia Quinn’s popular romance novel series.
Van Dusen hopes to do the same as the author, who gave each member of the Bridgerton family their own chance to shine.
“Right now, we’re obviously just focused on the first season.”
“We know there are eight Bridgerton siblings [and]there are eight Bridgerton books,” Van Dusen told Cosmopolitan UK in December 2020, “and while that focuses on the eldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne and her love affair with Simon.”
“Of course, if I’m successful, I’d like to be able to explore love stories and romances for all of the Bridgerton brothers and sisters.”
However, viewers haven’t seen the last of Daphne and Simon, who appear to have found their happily ever after in season 1’s final moments.
If the couple returned for new episodes, Page previously hinted that things might still go south for them.
“I believe that love evolves,” the British heartthrob told TV Infosurhoy in a short summary.
