Bake Off’s Candice Brown takes off her wedding ring after shock split with husband Liam

BAKE Off star Candice Brown has been photographed without her wedding ring in the wake of her split from husband Liam Macauley.

The 35-year-old baker announced this week that the pair had decided to separate, less than two years after they married.

Today, she was seen walking her dogs in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, near where she owns a pub.

Candice, who won the seventh series of The Great British Bake-Off in 2016, no longer had any rings on her wedding finger.

That was in contrast to pictures of her taken before the break-up when the wedding band and a sparkling diamond ring were both on show.

The baking star wore a black T-shirt and matching shorts with slip-on shoes as she went out in the sunshine today.

Her top bore the “F**K Stigma” logo of The Burnt Chef Project, which helps people working in the hospitality business.

Liam, who has moved out of the flat they shared, confirmed the split on Tuesday, saying he struggled to cope with the “intense pressure” of a showbiz relationship.

The Scottish tree surgeon explained: “There is nobody else involved. We have just sadly decided it wasn’t working.”

However, he admitted their marriage came under strain days after they got engaged when Candice was pictured with Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood, 54.

Liam told the Mail: “I’d not long asked Candice to marry me and I had to read reports that my new fiancée was seen kissing Hollywood and getting close to him.

“That was just a kiss on her cheek and there was nothing else to it. But we had only been engaged a few days. It was a lot to have to deal with.”

Despite the split, Candice appeared on Good Morning Britain to talk about restaurants taking deposits to ensure people turn up for their bookings.

She also hosted a bake-along to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer prevention charity Coppafeel.

But she also admitted “think I’m going to eat a lot of biscuits today”, in what may have been a sign that the split could be taking its toll.

Candice confirmed in October 2017 that she and Liam had got engaged after rumours swirled for months that they were heading down the aisle.

She explained: “I get emotional. Because it’s been such an amazing year. I feel very lucky.

“I’ve had such incredible opportunities – GBBO opened so many doors – and to top it off he puts a ring on it.”
