Breaking Bad stars reunite for new crime drama tracking undercover cops busting Chicago drug ring

BREAKING Bad stars Aaron Paul and Krysten Ritter are set to reunite for a new crime drama.

The actors will work together again on Amazon’s new Audible series The Coldest Case: A Black Book Drama.

The story is a prequel to James Patterson’s bestseller The Black Book and is the first of five new Audible projects from the American author.

The action follows homicide detective Billy Harney, who assigns his new partner Kate an undercover mission – to infiltrate a dangerous Chicago drug ring.

The series also features the voice of British actress Nathalie Emmanuel, who starred as Missandei in Game of Thrones.

Aaron and Krysten previously played doomed lovers Jesse Pinkman and Jane Margolis in Breaking Bad, with a brief reunion in the show’s Netflix spin-off film El Camino.

“When several members of the ring turn up dead, Billy abruptly pulls Kate out, blowing her cover,” reads the official Audible synopsis for The Coldest Case: A Black Book Drama.

“Kate’s informant inside the gang disappears — along with the ring’s black book.

“As Billy and Kate investigate the ring’s murders, they’ll be pulled into a dangerous web of corrupt politicians, vengeful billionaires, drugged pro-athletes, and violent, dark web conspiracies, all in search of the missing black book.”

Author James said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Audible on an extraordinary slate of original projects.

“I’m particularly looking forward to building stories specifically for the listening experience – the spin of a tire wheel, the gravel in a villain’s voice, the note of triumph in a detective’s final words as he closes a case – all performed by gifted, top-tier talent.”
