Cardi B Says Her Daughter Kulture Is a Big BTS Fan, Teases AMAs (Exclusive)
Cardi B is gearing up to slay the stage when she hosts the 2021 American Music Awards live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Cardi B spoke with ET’s Nischelle Turner ahead of her hosting debut, and she couldn’t contain her excitement as she revealed what fans can expect and who she is most looking forward to seeing.
Cardi confirmed she has seven outfit changes, saying, “It’s gonna be fashion.”
“I’m going to give you couture… custom, fresh off the runway from Paris.”
Cardi admitted to being “nervous” about her responsibilities, noting that she hasn’t performed or been in front of the cameras in a long time due to COVID.
Cardi mentions BTS, a group that her 3-year-old daughter adores, as the artist she is most looking forward to seeing.
“That girl listens to BTS because they’re more, like, friendly and they make her dance and stuff like that,” Cardi explains.
“I’m sure she’ll be overjoyed to see them.”
Cardi also mentions Megan Thee Stallion, Chloe Bailey, Silk Sonic, and Bruno Mars, whom she describes as “such a great performer.”
Cardi B is nominated for three awards, including Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist, Favorite Music Video, and Favorite Hip-Hop Song, in addition to hosting the star-studded event.
“I haven’t been thinking about things like, ‘Oh, am I going to win? Am I going to lose?'” she says.
“It’s just that I’ve been so preoccupied with hosting.”
Cardi released a statement earlier this month confirming her hosting duties, saying, “When I received the invite to host the AMAs, I was so excited.”
“Thank you to Jesse Collins, ABC, and MRC for making this happen! I’m ready to bring my personality to the AMAs stage!”
The 2021 American Music Awards will be broadcast live in November.
8:00 p.m. on November 21st
Hulu will stream the show the next day after it airs on ABC at 8:00 p.m. ET.
