Deion Sanders, a friend of Young Dolph’s, makes a passionate plea to God: ‘Lord, help us right now.’
Young Dolph, a rapper from Memphis, was shot and killed on Wednesday.
He was 36 years old at the time.
Pro Football Hall of Famer and Jackson State football head coach Deion Sanders was among those who expressed their condolences following his death.
When Sanders heard the news, he took to Twitter to make an impassioned plea.
“I pray to God these rumors about my friend, brother, and a man dear to my Sons [Young Dolph] aren’t true,” Sanders wrote in response to the news. “Lord, help us as a people stop the hate, violence, and hopelessness.”
Others will notice we are important once we realize it.
Sanders also posted two photos of himself and Young Dolph talking in his office in another tweet.
Please, Lord, keep the entire @YoungDolph family, friends, and loved ones safe.

According to WREG News, the shooting took place at Makeda’s Butter Cookies in Memphis.
One male victim was found and pronounced dead on the scene, according to police.
At the time, no information about the suspect was made public.
Young Dolph’s career was very successful, with three of his albums reaching the top ten on the Billboard charts.
Young Dolph announced his retirement from rapping earlier this year.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t do it.”
When asked about retiring, he said, “I can’t do,” according to Uproxx, during a sit down on DJ Scream’s and Big Bank’s Big Facts podcast.
“It’s like I’m the spokesperson for all the street n—s and all the n— that’s on some independent s—… And really come in the game on some s—… The n— that really want to do this s—, like, I don’t really wanna tie myself to no major label—do this sh*t on my own.”
This s— is going to take a lot of effort on my part.
“I’m going to take that.”
“It’s the same with everything else,” Young Dolph added.
You’ve got some n—s who don’t want to go down the same path as everyone else… n—s who are like, “I’m going to do this my way.”
Those people are counting on me, and I can’t disappoint them.
It’s as if I’m the one who inspires them.
Young Dolph has eight studio albums under his belt, the most recent of which was Dum and Dummer 2 in March.
His song “RNB,” which features Megan Thee Stallion, is well-known.
