Derek Hough of Dancing With the Stars has been diagnosed with a rare case of COVID.

Derek Hough is in quarantine after testing positive for a COVID outbreak.

On November 2, the Dancing With the Stars judge took to Instagram.

Derek says in the video, “I wanted you to hear it straight from me.”

“I’ve been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID despite having been fully vaccinated.”

Derek also gave fans an immediate update on his current condition, saying that he “just found out.”

“I’m fine,” he said.

“I feel strong, but I’m currently seeking medical advice.”

I’m putting forth every effort to improve as quickly as possible.

I’m currently in quarantine, and I’ll make sure to keep you all informed.

I just wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to everyone.”

Derek received a lot of support from fellow celebrities and fans after making his announcement, including Paralympian Amy Purdy, who was Derek’s dancing partner during the show’s 18th season.

She wrote, “Sending you love and healing thoughts!” and added, “Get better soon friend!”

Derek is currently serving as a judge for the 30th season of the dance competition, which means viewers may miss him in the coming weeks.

ABC has yet to comment on how this will impact future tapings.

The Emmy winner’s diagnosis comes almost two months after ballroom pro Cheryl Burke revealed that she had tested positive for coronavirus before the start of tapings for this season.
