Did Dwyane Wade have a Gabrielle Union poster in college?

Did Dwyane Wade have a Gabrielle Union poster in college?

There were no assists needed here: despite popular belief, Dwyane Wade did not have a poster of his future wife Gabrielle Union on his wall.

During his November press conference, the NBA star refuted the “too good to be true” rumor.

“It’s a lie,” he said lightheartedly on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on November 16.

In terms of where the story may have originated, Dwyane told host Stephen Colbert that he believes it came from someone close to home.

“So, my wife is a bigger celebrity than me,” Dwyane joked about his seven-year-long partner.

“She has a lot more opportunities to appear on your show and other shows than I do, so she planted this story.”

This is a made-up tale.

“People, this did not happen.”

In all fairness, given the timing, hanging Gabrielle’s poster on the wall wouldn’t be so crazy.

Dwyane’s college days were in the early aughts, when she had already landed blockbuster roles in She’s All That, 10 Things I Hate About You, and, of course, Bring It On.

“Now I had the magazine with her on the cover,” he explained.

“It was probably under my pillow, but it wasn’t on the wall,” says the narrator.

Despite this, Dwyane was able to find his ideal girl in the end.
